Plugin Description This plugin seamlessly connects your Bubble application with Twilio’s WhatsApp capabilities. You can quickly send and view WhatsApp messages through a simple, intuitive setup—enabling real-time communication and updates for your users.
Set Up Your Twilio Account
- Create or log into your Twilio account
- Head over to https://www.twilio.com/ and create an account, or sign in if you already have one.

- Get your Twilio Credentials
- From your Twilio Console dashboard, locate your Account SID and Auth Token.
- These credentials allow the plugin to communicate securely with your Twilio account.

- Enable WhatsApp in Twilio
- Under Messaging, select Try it out → Send a WhatsApp message and follow the prompts to activate the Twilio WhatsApp Sandbox.
- Send the provided code (e.g. “join <xxxxxx>”) from your personal WhatsApp number to the Twilio Sandbox number (often +14155238886
) so you can test messages.

- Register Your Phone Number
- Once you’ve joined the WhatsApp Sandbox, your personal phone number is considered authorized for testing. You’ll be able to send and receive messages with that number.

- Testing in the Sandbox
- Use the Sandbox number (e.g. whatsapp:+14155238886
) as your “From” address. - The authorized number you just joined from will be your “To” address when sending a test message.

- Move to Production (Optional)
- For an official WhatsApp Business profile (removing the “sandbox” header in messages), request access in Twilio. Once approved, you can connect a dedicated phone number for your business.

- Enter Your Credentials
- In Bubble’s Plugin settings, provide your Account SID and Auth Token. Make sure they match what’s in your Twilio Console.

- Configure Your WhatsApp Numbers
- In the relevant workflow actions, you will specify your Twilio “From” number (e.g. whatsapp:+14155238886
) and the recipient’s “To” number (e.g. whatsapp:+1234567890
).

- Send and View Messages
- Once set up, you can seamlessly exchange WhatsApp messages with any user whose number is opted into your Twilio WhatsApp channel.
- For conversation logs, check your Twilio Console or display the messages within your Bubble app as needed (e.g. in repeating groups or custom dashboards).
